Cat Daddy: The Book, by Jackson Galaxy

That’s right.

You watch Jackson work his Cat Mojo magic on T.V., but your friendly neighborhood Cat Daddy is also a writer and author.

His book, CAT DADDY, is being released by Tarcher/Penguin books on May 10, 2012.

CAT DADDY tells the story of the original cat from hell, Jackson’s very own Benny.  Benny and Jackson went through hell and back, and it set Jackson on the road to becoming the amazing cat behaviorist he is today.

You’ll read their whole story and get Jackson’s insightful tips on raising happy, healthy cats when the book is released this May.

But there’s already something very exciting happening right now.

For every copy of CAT DADDY pre-ordered before May 10, Tarcher/Penguin will donate $1.00 to the cause of saving shelter cats.  To make your preorder count, simply e-mail your receipt (or a photo/scan of your receipt) to:

Charities that benefit:
Best Friends Animal Society
Stray Cat Alliance
Neighborhood Cats.

And Through The Month of February…

Tweet a picture of your cat using the hashtag #CatDaddy from February 1-29th, and Tarcher will donate 5¢ for every tweet!

Good afternoon! I just came across your book; somehow I’d missed finding out that CAT DADDY is hitting bookstores this May. I’d love to find a way to get an early copy to my dad, who’s turning seventy-eight next week. I would buy any early bound proof you have around and pay for shipping & handling, or make a donation to a kitty cause in exchange if you’re prohibited from selling such things.

My dad and I are both “cat attractors.” He currently homes four cats, three or which are huge and aggressive toward anyone who is not Dad. Though he usually raises or rehabs great cats, these are nearly feral to non-Dads and have been for years. I have not been able to work with them at all due to geographic separation.

I have four happy, social cats plus two feral outdoor cats I’m feeding and taking medical care of, and anticipate having to manage a blended cat household soon as my father ages and slows down. I know he would enjoy reading your book and actually pay attention to what you’ve written, and maybe take steps to make what eventually has to happen easier for all of us.

If you can’t sell a proof or early copy (or pass on in exchange for a donation to a worthy cause), I’ll pre-order CAT DADDY anyway.

Thanks, and thanks for helping people be better friends to cats.

I’m worried about my little cat. She’ll be 15 in june 2016, but last year her sister died. She was diagnosed hyperthyroid, and despite medication, she died. They were not always best buddies, but it is clear she misses her sister. I think she is depressed and lonely, and I don’t know how to make things better. I have tried to have playtime with her, and although she shows interest and swipes a bit, she turns her back and lies down. Ive just had her to the vet today for annual booster, and she is quite healthy in body, but not in mind. What can I do to help her? She has always been a nervous wee thing since a kitten, that bringing another cat into the house seems wrong to me. I really don’t know how to deal with this.

We regret that Jackson does not answer questions posted in the comments. This is due to his demanding schedule and the high volume of requests he receives. But most importantly, since he has not met your cat, it would be contrary to his approach for him to give specific personalized advice for your specific situation. That being said, general questions and issues are addressed throughout this blog, in his book Cat Daddy and of course, the show My Cat From Hell.
