Spirit Essences Report: Mr. Fluff

This is one in a series of posts about the Spirit Essences that Jackson uses to help the cats you see on My Cat From Hell (Saturdays at 8 pm (ET/PT) on Animal Planet, check your local listings).

Spirit Essences are not essential oils.  They are holistic remedies, and the only veterinarian-formulated line of its kind in the world.   Jackson has developed and refined the remedies based on his over 15 years of experience and the needs of his clients.  They have been extremely successful, even in very difficult situations.  For more info, check out www.SpiritEssences.com.

This edition of the Spirit Essences Report will cover just the second cat from last week’s episode of “My Cat From Hell.”  For info on the first cat, Stella – a pretty complex case – see this post.

And now, on to the inside scoop about Mr. Fluff…

My Cat From Hell

Mr. Fluff

Issue: Mr. Fluff kept his guardians walking on eggshells, just cringing, waiting for his next attack.  And a swipe from this big Maine Coon was causing not only physical pain, but relationship strain as well, between his two guardians.

Jacksons says: “I used Hyper Helper with him because although not your typical “run-till-you-drop” Tasmanian Devil type that I originally designed it for, the key phrase in design was “Instilling a pause between thought and action.”  Along with the step-by-step instructions regarding behavior that I gave Jessica and Cameron, I thought that “pause” would serve Fluff well in his road towards appropriate energetic release.  And it worked!”

We regret that Jackson does not answer questions posted in the comments. This is due to his demanding schedule and the high volume of requests he receives. But most importantly, since he has not met your cat, it would be contrary to his approach for him to give specific personalized advice for your specific situation. That being said, general questions and issues are addressed throughout this blog, in his book CAT DADDY and of course, the show My Cat From Hell.

Does Jackson do video chat consults? We are “almost there” with a very difficult rescue cat, just have a couple of issues that still need to be resolved and then we will have a house of peaceful pussycats! We would love a video consult, I think it would do the trick. Might be a way for Jackson to help people across the country, make fees, and not have to travel!

    Hi Jackson,
Thanks so much for getting folks to know about flower essences. I have been using them for a few years with my pets, stray and injured animals. Recently used them with a very feral cat, who I don’t think ever had a human touch. I trapped him to neuter, but then also realized he had a leg injury and couldn’t go back out. Seven months, essences and lots of patience later I have a cat, who enjoys being petted. He still has some fears, but he becomes braver every day. I think it just proves that any cat can be helped.
    Thanks for all you do!
    Maria

I have six cats, three adults and three kittens. My one adult cat, Lucy, is always nice until she is around the kittens. She so severely bit one of the kitten’s tails that it almost had to be amputated. Since then, I have to sequester her in a room by herself. She is only out when the kittens are being fed (in a closed room). Do you have any suggestions on how to get Lucy to not attack/try to kill the kittens, so that we can all share space together? :(

      Martha,

One thing to start with is to put up a gate between two rooms, with Lucy on one side, and the kittens on the other. This way, they can see each other, get used to everyone’s sounds, smells and body language without being in direct contact. Let the kittens see you play with Lucy, and let Lucy see you play with the kittens. Also, put the food and water dishes near the gates so they can watch each other through the gate as they eat. This will help them learn to accept each other. I would suggest you spend as much time with Lucy as you do the kittens, so she doesn’t feel left out. Hope this helps!

    Hi Jackson,

First of all, I love the show!

I wanted to know where can I get the horizontal scratcher that you had on the episode Mr. Fluff.
The one that you used, seemed to be very sturdy and I am looking to get the exact one for my cat, Cookie.

    Thanks! <3

      Hi Urszula,

The large scratch lounger that Jackson put by the couple’s bed is
a “Scratch ‘n Slumber” Big Baby by Brawny Cat http://www.brawnycat.com/#!

It looks like they’re no longer selling that exact model and are currently
coming up with new designs. Coincidentally, I just purchased one for
my kitty in November, and he absolutely loves it! It’s beautiful.

The other one that I noticed was the one that Mr. Fluff was sleeping in at the end, and that’s a “Scratch Lounge” http://www.scratchlounge.com/

I also have one of these for Izzy, and he loves it as well. I bought mine at
a local pet supply store (not at one of the big chains), but you can also
purchase it from them directly or, onlynaturalpet.com is one other place I know that carries it. I love this company .. you might want to check them out while you’re at it.

I recorded the 8 hours of show on Saturday and watched them all at once! I have had cats for years and years, but learned so much in watching. I just wish there was a show featuring a depressed cat. I adopted a rescue 1.5 and 2.0 year old ragdoll/Himalayan who won’t play, doesn’t react at all. I know that he is depressed after being abandoned by his other family, but its really difficult. I really really want to help him be the wonderful cat he should be. My other cat wants to play with him but he gets very little reaction from him… If anyone has advice for handling Frankie be a more happy content cat.. I will try anything, its sad to see him like that.

Yeah babbling, I love the show and am telling all of “cat” friends about it! !

Hello, It really seems like you have performed miracles with the cats your have helped. You thought Mr Fluff was bad….I have one a LOT worse. I am curious if your have a cat that never bonded with it’s mom cat how can you get that cat to ever bond with you. My “terror” Miss Violet is already 3 and I thought with love a patience she would come around but I show the scars to prove that has not happened. Will it ever? and any tools or tricks in you guitar case to help us?
I am afraid that she really is out to get me…….she may off me one night in my sleep.
I have woke on more than one morning with dried blood streaks on my leg from an attack in the night.
