Catification: Cat Climbing Heaven All In White

Alinta Hawkins from Bahrain completely catified her dining room and kitchen to accommodate her beautiful feline family. She chose an elegant white-on-white scheme, which shows off the cats as they climb along the floating wall shelves.

She did a great job creating a cat superhighway in the dining room. There are no dead ends, which is especially important in a multi-cat household.

In the kitchen, a pair of Cat Clouds shelves from The Refined Feline create a perch over the sink that leads to the top of the kitchen cabinets.

We regret that Jackson does not answer questions posted in the comments. This is due to his demanding schedule and the high volume of requests he receives. But most importantly, since he has not met your cat, it would be contrary to his approach for him to give specific personalized advice for your specific situation. That being said, general questions and issues are addressed throughout this blog, in his book CAT DADDY and of course, the show My Cat From Hell.

What a fun coincidence! I just finished an advice column on my blog about just this topic… only from the feline point of view.

Very nice! But … all the better to show the cat fur!! Not a big fan of cats on shelves and counters in a kitchen …

If you have cats, you have cat hair. I don’t know about everybody else, but when I eat in my kitchen, I eat off of a plate. I don’t put my food directly on my table or countertop. Just sayin…

Love them! Saw them before on your show and as a matter of fact I’m currently looking for a carpenter. I know I COULD do it, but my cats will thank me more if I don’t ;-) 2 Egyptian Maus,, 3 Meesers, 1 rescue. Yeah, I need them ROFL!

Beautiful! We have cat shelves too but they are a little more “eclectic”. LOL

What did you use to make and install the shelves in the dining room?

So the cats can traverse their house, not just the areas you think they should be sequestered in.

This looks fabulous – and I’d like to do something similar in my bedroom. These look like Lack shelves form Ikea but i don’t think ikea makes them in some of the (ideal) lengths I can see in the picture (~20″ wide). Were they custom made or somehow modified? Please let us know!
