Jackson answers your questions via video. As promised – a video focusing on a remedy especially for cats…
Jackson’s company Spirit Essences makes the only line of holistic remedies for animals that has been formulated by a holistic veterinarian (Dr. Jean Hofve) and nationally respected animal behaviorist (The Cat Daddy himself, Jackson Galaxy, start of Animal Planet’s “My Cat From Hell”)
These essence remedies are NOT essential oils, they are NOT aromatherapy, and they are NOT homeopathic. They are essence remedies – another modality in the world of holistic treatments.
This video answers the FAQ:
“How exactly do I use this Safe Space for Cats?”
We regret that Jackson does not answer questions posted in the comments. This is due to his demanding schedule and the high volume of requests he receives. But most importantly, since he has not met your cat, it would be contrary to his approach for him to give specific personalized advice for your specific situation. That being said, general questions and issues are addressed throughout this blog, in his book CAT DADDY and of course, the show My Cat From Hell.

Love love LOVE Safe Space for cats. I could see an almost immediate relaxation from foster kittens who were freaked out. Thank you for this wonderful product!
Awaiting news of Pump….
We have a 1.5 year old male kitty who lives inside at night
and loves to go out into our garden all day.
He is very loving and playful and chases his toy
with full force when we play with him in the evening.
He eats twice a day and has some snacks in between.
He has become very afraid of strangers.
He follows me around and sleeps only when
I go to sleep at night.
I must go out of town for several days and
I am stressing out about how he
would be best taken care of.
He LOVES to go out during the day.
I have a high amount of stress to leave him alone
and until I find someone who truly will care for him.
Please Help!
Is there a Pet Boarding place to recommend in San Diego/La Mesa?
Is it best to have a Pet Sitter or to Board him?
The problem with a Pet Sitter is they only come once a day
and of course kitty would have to change his entire routine
for 2 or 3 weeks.
If he is Boarded he will not be able to go out and might
catch other cat diseases. We have him neutered and
only vaccinated for rabies.
What would be the best thing for him?
I hope you found a resolution to your problem. I know this was posted in Oct so you may have already left on your trip, but if not yet (or if you must do so again in the future), then here are some suggestions:
If you can’t take your kitty WITH you (best option), then if possible see if there is a good friend who would be able to come stay at your home while you are gone. (Good safety for the house too having someone living there). If that’s not possible either, is there a good friend who would take your kitty to thier home to take care of him? In that case, if you send familiar items with your kitty, that will help to calm him while he’s at the new temporary location (favorite toys, his bed etc – and something with YOUR scent on it that he can lay on). Either way, if kitty isn’t already quite familiar with the person & so isn’t afraid of him/her, then introduce your kitty and your friend to each other well ahead of time … give him plenty time with that person to allow him to overcome his fear of the person. Rescue Remedy for Cats would be a good purchase too — that will have a calming effect on him & make him less stressed & fearful.
I would not board him — if your only recourse is to have a pet sitter come in once or twice a day, then I recommend you not change the sheets on your bed before you leave town & also leave a bathrobe or some other item of clothing on the bed as well since both will have your scent on it & will make kitty feel like you are still ‘around’; have the pet sitter use the Rescue Remedy when they come in to take care of his needs; and also consider leaving a radio turned on to a classical music channel – it’s been proven that this kind of music is soothing, calming & helps reduce stress for animals. There is also a stress-reducing diffuser called Feliway that you plug into an electic wall outlet which you might find very beneficial too for calming & reducing his stress. It releases into the air in the house a natural substances that mimics a cat’s facial pheromones and helps to soothe and calm your feline friend during times of stress (which would be especially deal for when your cat has to be left alone). Both the Rescue Remedy & the Feliway might help to reduce his general fear of strangers, too, that you said has developed even when you are home. I hope some of these suggestions help and I wish you much luck so that you can have a stress-free trip while your cat is also stress-free while waiting for your return.
My 8 years old cat Gigi is pulling and eating her hair. It has been happening for a while but I thought she was only grooming herself. However she has now bold patches and her hind legs are almost hairless. The vet examined her twice and ran all the usual tests such as thyroid, etc., everything came out normal. I would appreciate any ideas. She even tries to eat her hair from the brush. We are at our wits end, soon we eill be pulling our hair too in despair…. Help!
Since there is nothing wrong physically, it sounds like your kitty might be suffering from some kind of stress related issue. Try Rescue Remedy for Cats, &/or, a Feliway Stress-Reducing Pheromone Plug-In for Kittens & Cats to see if either of those will help.
