We regret that Jackson does not answer questions posted in the comments. This is due to his demanding schedule and the high volume of requests he receives. But most importantly, since he has not met your cat, it would be contrary to his approach for him to give specific personalized advice for your specific situation. That being said, general questions and issues are addressed throughout this blog, in his book CAT DADDY and of course, the show My Cat From Hell.

I’LL BE THERE!!!!!
I have two cats one is a beautiful Bombay, very very mouthy, male and the other is a persnickety domestic shorthair, female. The female can’t stand to be locked in a room I don’t know why. But everytime I play with the male and the female interrupts upsetting the male. Plus lately he has best very jealous and beating her up more. Both are neutered any advice for one on one okay time without her interrupting and making him go away?
We have a wonderful cat that has been in our life for the past 4 years. She came to us as a feral cat in our backyard who had given birth to 2 blind kittens. We began feeding her while she nursed her kittens. Once her kittens were old enough to be weaned we caught them and found them a home. “Mama” which what we named her was not happy but it was the best for the kittens. We knew for this not to happen again we would need to get her spayed. So we set a trap and caught her and found a Vet through the SPCA who would spay her. By this time we had become her food source twice a day, so even though after we let her out of the cage after her surgery she did come back. Now Mama would come for breakfast and dinner and then off to play around the yard. Over time I patiently got closer and closer until she let me touch her. Once she finally realized how nice petting was and we let it be on her terms she would let me pet her. Fast forward to today we have moved and had to take her with us, as a result she is now an indoor cat who sleeps with us and jumps in our laps for pets and attention but still on her terms. Our dilema is we need to pick her up to put her in a cage to take her to a Vet. She has a bad eye infection that needs tending to also we will be moving again across country and we don’t know how to move with Mama. We love Mama, please help us help her. Pamela
Hey Pamela………..make a crate a *home* and she’ll just get used to going in there! Then on the days when you need to move her….just close the door
My wife and I are BIG fans or your TV show. My wife had 2 Burmese for 25 & 26 years. (15 with me). Then another pair of Burmese for 15 & 16 years. Now we have a black 4 month old cat that has taken over our home and we love it. Our new Sable Burmese will arrive in about 3 weeks and we’ll have a full house again.
We have learned so much from your show……. thank you, thank you, thank you.
I will also be eagerly awaiting this connection!! I have three”cat-men”…; all buddies (most of the time!?). My boys are: Fox-two-white-toes (Foxy), Scamp, & Scout. They are, respectively, 16, 12, & 1/yr; and, grey-smoke part persian, blue-eyed/lynxmarked part Siamese, & grey/white s/h( who is my Walmart dumpster baby!). It must have been a despicable person to drop this little one off in cold, damp weather (I could hold him cupped in one hand & fed him KMR & Gerber strained chicken at first. He is a robust 8 lb. of energy at present!!
Only issue is (mentioned at length in my blog): Scamp is a dedicated “fur-puller” (he was adopted with this & mult. med. assmts. led to zero!! (also see lengthy blog). Maybe some Spirit Essences could help??
Over $1200 & Colo. State U. Vet Center later, I was told “You have an allergic cat!”….well, DUH!! HELP!!
Most common non-parasite allergy? Wheat.
Turned out my little one has had to go on non-grain food (we use Halo dry and wet), miracle change. Fur, instead of bare, rashcovered, weeping underside! Oh,ascertain there are no fleas etc. involved.
Dairy is, as for us, another common allergy. GI upsets and pain (and GAS!) are treatable.
I say we and us because the home is now wheat/rye/barley/oats AND dairy free. He doesn’t get me until I clean myself if I was exposed to them outside (brush the teeth/wash face & hands/change shirt).
Make sure litter isn’t exposed to them either (I was using a grainbased litter!).
IT IS WORTH IT to see new fur growing out of healing skin.
I wish I could be here for this!! I have a dentist appointment that I’ve already rescheduled twice :~(
I also have 9 cats and problems with some of them urinating out of the box in some odd places (my dogs bed is a favorite, but in they’ve peed in our bed 3 times, including once on my husband’s head!).
Our house is pretty much wall-to-wall liter boxes (we have 8 inside the house and 2 in their outside enclosure), four cat condos and both interactive and individual toys. We have seven food bowls for their dry food and each has it’s own plate for their can food in the evening. I know 9 cats is too many, but 3 are fosters from a rescue organization that I have had for a full year now! We are trying everything to get them placed in responsible homes, but no one wants them.
Most of the problems started about four months ago (I’m guessing that the as the ‘kittens’ have matured that has caused some problems).
BTW, all the cats have been to the vet and all cats are spayed/neutered. I’ve tried “Feilaway”, both spray and infusers, but it doesn’t seem to help.
Love your show. I have 4 upstairs cats, all fixed of course and 4 downstairs and outside enclosure ferals. Two of them i can pet, had them for 6 plus years. (fixed of course)
Our newly rescued kitten Lacey rules the upstairs cats. This kitten is so aggressive when getting treats, canned food, with the other 3 upstairs cats. She was taken at a month old, as the people who had the mother had killed several of the other kittens. We managed to rescue the mom , fix and place month later. Could not find Lacey’s sister, only other survivor. Lacey was prob just about done nursing??? I fed her with bottle for couple days and she than ate dry food. Not sure, but doubt if these idiots were feeding them mmuch , but Lacey acts like she was on her own forever, and very territoral about food. Will this continue you think? When i was able to get laceys mom, when these folks were evicted from there trailer, i put them together, they did not get along!!! Lacey’s mom gracie is a very sweet cat , doesnt like to be held much tho, and lacey is showing the same triats. lap cat , but doesnt like to be held. much. Shes 3 monthes old now.
Unfortunately, I work until 6 p.m. EST. Can I still participate if I cannot long on until about 6:30 p.m. EST?
I’m not sure this is an appropriate question and answer spot but here goes.
I have rescued a 2yr old blue persain from a cattery and boy has she been exsausting! I’ve had her for around 3 months now and I never thought I would ever be able to touch her. Her level of trust has grown so much that she’s now my little shadow and even sleeps with me (keeping her distance). The problems I can’t seem to conquer are her batroom habits. She pees on my couch and poops in the bathtub. I started shutting the batroom door (easy fix) but just in the past week has started to poop on the floor in front of the door. I have learned not to stress too much over the poop in the floor but the peeing on the couch has got to stop. She ruined my couch and I just recently bought a new one. This one has been covered with puppy pee pads, aluminum foil and I just bought a scat mat. It has become rediculous because I can’t even use the couch in fear she will pee on it the sec I unvail it for company! I have tried every flower essence known to man and nothing has helped. PLEASE help me if you have any advice.
I have tow cats one named Patches and another one a boy cat the boy’s name is Tasey they always fight what can be done to stop it. One day the fight got so bad Patches got bit on the leg buy Tasey she is afraid of him. I hope we can get this fighting to stop[.
I am afraid someone will get hurt or worst.Help
Hello Team cat Mojo! My 9 year old Siamese guy, Sky Blue is in the hospital with what the vet thinks is pancreatitis. He is diabetic, and I guess this is common for diabetic cats. He had been doing so well, and it was disheartening to see him get sick this weekend. Anyway, he should be fine, I am just asking for some emotional support to hold Sky in love light, and mojo! All support, positive affirmations, etc. and kind words will be greatly appreciated by myself and Sky. Love, light, and mojo Linda Eisenhauer
