We regret that Jackson does not answer questions posted in the comments. This is due to his demanding schedule and the high volume of requests he receives. But most importantly, since he has not met your cat, it would be contrary to his approach for him to give specific personalized advice for your specific situation. That being said, general questions and issues are addressed throughout this blog, in his book CAT DADDY and of course, the show My Cat From Hell.

I have my ticket. I am looking forward to getting the chance to meet Jackson! It should be a fun night!

It WOULD have been fun, IF we had been able to meet him – or even SEE him! What an awful venue they picked for this event. There was not one place to sit or stand where the view was not obstructed by a pillar, or a ton of people. They really wasted a good opportunity.

The venue was not appropriate for the event at all. While the drinks and food were delicious, the restaurant beautiful, it was not the right set-up for the event. There were only a few tables, leaving the majority of the attendees to have to stand the entire night, balancing drink and food. Every table had obstructed views, so we could not see any of the slideshow, the speakers or Jackson Galaxy. The sound system was also very poor, and it was difficult to hear the speakers as well as the items be raffled off. More money would have been raised had those in attendance been able to view the items for raffle and hear the description. I was also disappointed that Jackson Galaxy had a maybe 10-minute appearance. The way the event was billed led me to believe that Jackson would spend some time talking about himself and his work. I agree with Cindy above that a great opportunity was wasted. Had the venue been appropriate for the occasion, the Tree House Humane Society would have taken in much more in donations.

I was there, too, and here is my somewhat different assessment.
Though, I agree, that the venue was a bit strange/small for this large of an event, I believe Tree House made out pretty well..which was the ultimate goal, afterall.
I, personally, was not happy with the food. I admit, I am picky. But everything seemed to be scallop based. Don’t get me wrong, I love seafood! I went to college in Boston, and could have had the best scallops ever, but did not even fancy them, then….ie….I don’t think it’s a common seafood for people to like.
As for the sound system, how is it that I was able to hear the verbal auctions pretty well (btw, there were plenty silent auctions, readily available to bid upon, as well) being half-deaf with severe tinnitus? Meaning: what I can half-hear, is in constant competition with the tinnitus. I normally have to struggle to hear most anything in these types of crowded, noisy situations.
About Jackson’s availability…yeah it did take some maneuvering on my part to find him. But, as a result, not only did I meet him, he graciously signed his book for me, talked to me for a bit, AND I have a couple of lovely, close photos of us.
In essence, Tree House did financially well on this event, as did I….spiritually, anyway.
