Carson Cats is a cat rescue dedicated to rescuing cats and kittens from the 6 Los Angeles County shelters, mainly Carson Shelter located in Gardena, Ca.

We rescue cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, peacocks, anything with 4 legs and the occasional human…hehehe…

This is a private, volunteer only organization.  Cyndi Zacko and her small team work relentlessly to rescue cats in need from these shelters, raising money for their vetting, pulling them from the shelters and transporting them to prospective fosters, adopters and rescues to the Los Angeles Area.  Carson Cats is also highly involved in making these cats HEALTHY for the rescues to take and find homes for because most of the animals that come from these shelters are exposed to terrible viruses or are surrendered to the shelter in terrible shape due to abuse and neglect.

Stretch & Scratch

As a shelter volunteer, Joan Laisney saw scratch marks on cage walls and shelving by shelter cats’ attempts to perform natural behaviors: stretching their muscles, scratching to clean their nails and scent mark with paws.

After months of testing, Joan designed a scratcher for caged cats that is sturdy, easy to install and affordable in a tight economy.

Every Shelter of the Month receives a case of these awesome scratchers!  Thank you Stretch & Scratch!

  • attaches to most cage doors
  • mounts on the cage wall to save floor space
  • and keeps cage-cleaning easy
  • keeps cats exercised and entertained
  • encourages natural behavior
  • provides enrichment for quarantined cats
  • send scratcher home with kitty to ease stress
  • add Stretch and Scratch to your shelter’s “wish-list”
  • get scratchers donated by shelter supporters

Spirit Essences since 1995 STACKED

Spirit Essences: Holistic Remedies for Animals

Every Shelter of the Month receives
a 32 oz. bottle of Stress Stopper.

Stress Stopper is formulated for all animals, not just cats.  It helps animals feel grounded and protected, which makes it great for the occasional, short-duration stresses that an animal faces: trips to the vet, thunder and lightning, fireworks, parties, vacuum cleaner, lawnmower, machinery, visitors and house guests, vacations (if the animal is boarded or has a pet-sitter), unusual noises (remodeling, construction, roadwork, etc.), arguments with other animals, repairpersons.  It is also good for animals who are left home alone all day, to prevent boredom and stress.

As you can see, Stress Stopper is an all-around remedy, which has made it one of the best-selling remedies in the Spirit Essences line.

We regret that Jackson does not answer questions posted in the comments. This is due to his demanding schedule and the high volume of requests he receives. But most importantly, since he has not met your cat, it would be contrary to his approach for him to give specific personalized advice for your specific situation. That being said, general questions and issues are addressed throughout this blog, in his book CAT DADDY and of course, the show My Cat From Hell.

I have an unusual situation (for me). I have been adopted by an intact female cat. She has 3 week old kitties in my garage. It is so filled with junk, I can’t go in to check on our babies. Baby is a GREAT mom!!! I am handicapped because I can’t really walk well, I’m very unstable for now. Hopefully another knee surg. will change that for the better. I feel that once I am more stable, Baby & I can get closer than 3 feet!!! I want to hold & cuddle her so much! How can you help me. I want to have her spayed and Get her caught up with injections & I won’t catch her (even if I could) because I don’t want to cause her harm of any sort. She is feral but doesn’t leave our yard & will come within about 2 feet of me now, but I don’t try to grad her. She responds to the slow blink. I think I have remembered everything. HELP ME, please!!!
