Book Tour Date Changes slider

The CAT DADDY paperback book tour is undergoing some re-jiggering.

Please keep checking the website for any additional updates.

Also, please contact the venue you plan to attend in advance to prevent any unpleasant surprises.

  • not allow cats or pets in the venue

And now, without further ado, here are the details on the book tour to celebrate the paperback release of Jackson’s book CAT DADDY: What the World’s Most Incorrigible Cat Taught Me About Life, Love and Coming Clean.

Gaaah! I only travel out of town for work twice a year, for three days each. And Jackson’s stop in St. Louis (my town) is during one of those trips!! Guess I’m going to have to make a three hour drive to KC the week before. Well at least that one can include a VIP reception!

  38. Ellen   April 27, 2013 at 10:04 pm

Jackson, I am a longtime fan. I’ve been watching Cat from Hell from its beginnings and have used many of your tips to keep the peace between my two sweet but slightly hightstrung cats. Not only do I have the hardback of CAT DADDY, I have also bought five copies and given them away to friends—and I am not a rich person.

Please come to South Carolina. Come to Charleston which is beautiful and almost a cat city—-or come to Columbia where the need may be greater. No where do people love their cats more than in Columbia, but some owners are into instant gratification—if a cat doesn’t act just right it goes back to the pound. But you have lots of fans there and lots of people who have heard of you are willing to learn. Plus BOTH cities have dynamite independent bookstores…..and God bless you for supporting those!

  39. eileen knapik   April 28, 2013 at 4:01 am

Please visit Shadow Cats Rescue sanctuary in Round Rock, TX, just a few minutes up I-35 from Austin. We lovingly care for ~ 85 cats of all ages, all but a small handful of whom are not adoptable. We have a special unit for feline leukemia+ kitties, as well. I know you’d be amazed by the beautiful home & garden I like to refer to as the Temple of Bast. 😀 And of course, all of us volunteers there are big fans of yours!

  44. Janel DeSimone   April 29, 2013 at 3:53 pm

Would love it if you would come to the Philadelphia area! I would be thrilled and honored to meet you. PA loves cats!!

  45. Lara   April 29, 2013 at 6:58 pm

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better.
It’s not.”― Dr. Seuss, The Lorax. The Lorax speaks for the trees and Jackson speaks for the cats! Thanks for all you do, Jackson! You should come to Washington DC / Northern Virginia. The high school where I teach is having a service project to collect supplies for The Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation They also run The Stray Cat Café I could get a lot of my students to come see you! The metro DC area also has the headquarters for Alley Cat Allies, and in
Virginia we have Rikki’s Refuge, an all specials no kill sanctuary We also have Pet Sage the only pet store in Virginia that carries your products. Cat lovers are numerous in this area, and the cat guardians I know are also advocates and volunteers for cat organizations. We all have rescue cats and are feline at heart. I hope you will consider making a stop in DC / VA / MD if not on this tour, then please please please, the next one! Safe travels!

YES!!!! I am so excited that you will be in South Florida.

  47. Mama Kitty   May 1, 2013 at 7:55 pm

My family is in need of your advice on my Mama Kitty. My step daughter cant sleep in her room b/c of our kitty peeing in her room. My whole upstairs smells and she only messes in this one room. I am not sure as to why but to me it seems like my Mama Kitty is mad at something or someone. She is in good health and a very playful but she is however an “on my terms” type of kitty…. Please any advice would help our smelly problem… Thank you for loving our kitties!!!

    1. Heather   May 2, 2013 at 5:19 am

Mama Kitty~I am having a similar problem with 2 of my 6 kitties. I have 3 males, 15y/o.13 y/o & 9y/o. The females are 2 (sisters that do not like each other) they are 4 y/o and last is a 10 month old “orange” female. Since she joined us~approx 4 months ago~one of the sisters has taken to peeing in several areas of the house~including the kitchen counter! The little one has peed on our bed~where I sleep~in a couple of corners, the couch where I sit. I had them checked~no health problem. Obviously they are stressed and this is how they deal with it.
I added another litter box~that makes it 5 of the largest boxes available, 2 in an area & 3 in the original space~the laundry room. I would like to put a box where they pee, but that is not an option. I scoop at last twice daily or as I see it needs done.
I use Spirit Essences, helps some, I use a variety of sprays that are to keep them from the areas they pee, also have “comfort zone Felway” plug ins. I do see some calming from those as well. The sprays need to be applied constantly~in that the areas need to be treated several times daily. I know this is an on going process and it does cost a bit, but I cannot/will not re-home any of these cats. I take the responsibility/relationship of/with them seriously and my husband knows my commitment.
I understand this problem is more of a territorial, possession thing. I have had many cats over the past 30 plus years. Had only one female in those years, she was the sweetest girl. These females~they adopted me, showed up in the back yard~are “bitchy” and like I said territorial & possessive. When ever one of them has my lap/attention the others swipe, hiss and sometime growl to get attention. As Jackson has said in his program, cats do not do something cause the are mad. Again it is cat behavior to mark what they want to possess. Dogs do it also.
As you know cats will go back to the areas they “mark,” my suggestions is to get the areas cleaned~carpeted with padding is the hardest~had to remove a few areas as could to get all the way down to the “stink.” Then use a deterrent to keep her away.
Good luck. Hope you get results.

  48. Jenny Schlueter   May 1, 2013 at 9:43 pm

Hey Jackson!!! Please come see us at Tree House when you are in town! We’d love to see you. If not, maybe at the ball this Fall again? Hope you’re having a great Spring – have fun on the tour ; )

  51. LolasMom   May 4, 2013 at 9:40 am

I hope San Francisco is lucky enough for you to visit (again–you filmed some of this season’s MCFH up here)!

  52. Loretta Beasley   May 4, 2013 at 1:55 pm

Come to the Blind Cat Rescue and Sanctuary in North Carolina. The cats are hysterical to watch and there are so many personalities and quirks….you won’t be bored ! we would also like to know who to become one of the sanctuary of the month tyvm

  53. Carol Ann Matuszewski   May 4, 2013 at 2:11 pm

Thank you so much, Jackson, for coming to New York City on this book tour! I already have my ticket for the event at the Strand on May 21, and I will be there with bells on! I am looking forward so much to being able to meet you in person!!!

  54. Karen Howard   May 4, 2013 at 3:53 pm

I know this is a long shot, but it would be so GREAT if we had the chance to see you here in New Zealand !! There are currently 900,000 – 1.500,000 cats here with approx 4.5 million people. New Zealand has the highest cat ownership per capital in the world. 48% of households own 1 cat and of that figure 20% own 2 or more. This compares to only 29% of households with dogs. We get your program here on cable via Animal Planet. I have become a loyal fan of the show and I know a tour downunder would be a HUGE success. Cesar Millan came a couple of years ago for all the dog lovers, now we need you to visit and represent the feline population.

    Give a thought please !!!!!!!!

  55. Tara Weaver   May 4, 2013 at 7:21 pm

    Oh please come to Philly!!!

  56. Wendy   May 4, 2013 at 8:30 pm

Please visit Blind Cat Rescue in Fayetteville, NC. Alana is amazing and so are the cats. She has over 60,000 likes on the Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary facebook page from people all over the world. She takes care of Blind and HIV cats. These cats are so spoiled. She has a visitors day every month and people come from all over to love these cats. She even has a Amazon wish list and people buy the cats everything they need plus more. When she gets items from the wish list, she opens them on a u-stream feed so everyone can watch as the cats investigate. I have been to visit the rescue, it is amazing, very clean and the cats are so happy when people come to visit. Alot of people don’t realize that a blind cat does not know they are blind and can be taken care of like a regular cat. A visit from you would be soooo awesome!!!!!!

  57. Shari Bice   May 4, 2013 at 8:37 pm

    Aloha Jackson,

REALLY disappointed in Jackson! Coming to Nashville, TN during the book signing tour, BUT you have to pay a minimum of $90 for an animal expo to have access to get him to sign his book! REALLY?????? My opinion of Jackson has just CHANGED & I think he got too big for his pants WAY too Quickly! I had thought Jackson was a really cool dude but I guess I was wrong!

  59. Joanna   May 5, 2013 at 7:17 am

    Please consider coming to Denver…

My 22 year old baby girl Amber thinks you’re wonderful, (she’d love to meet you, but since she’s a sweetie-girl and not a “cat from hell”, figures her chances are slim and none)… but, says if you’d come to Denver, maybe her mommy could get your auto-graph on your book for her.

I’ve had her since she was 5 weeks old and she turned 22 on April 10th.. She has her achys and she’s deaf now, but we’ll never tell her she’s an old lady.. Sometimes she can even beat me up and down the stairs in my townhouse. She’s on a completely grain-free diet with digestive, & joint supplements and senior kitty vitamins.. And she’s the sweetest girl in the world!!!

So, please come to Denver… you wouldn’t want to disappoint Amber, would you???

    >^!^< miaou!!!!

  60. Roseann   May 6, 2013 at 5:25 pm

Help…. We had to put down our cat, who was 20 years old. Instead of getting a kitten, we decided to rescue a cat. Instead of 1 cat, we rescued 2 cats, 4 months ago, that were in a hoarding situation, (45 cats). These cats were in the shelter for 1 1/2 years. They actually picked us and we fell in love with them. The one thing was we thought that we were receiving healthy cats. According to the vet, there were cleared of all issues, (the one cat we took home 2 weeks later due to upper respitory infection.
Needless to say, after taking the one cat home, Greyson, 3 days later he was in the vets office. His breath smelled terrible, scratching the ears and coughing/sneezing. He had ear mites, upper respitory and gum infection. So Greyson has actually been on medication, ear flush, etc., since we received him. After taking them both for check ups with the vet, we find out that they both had extremely bad gum infection and had to have their teeth pulled, (except for the canines).
This had been extremly hard and $2000.00 later, they have had their teeth done and Greyson now has upper respitory again.
Our problem is, the cats are really sweet, however, trying to give them medication has become a nightmare. They both now run away and hide and we cannot get them. They are now terrified of us and we are just about ready to give up. My fiance has said enough. After 4 months, the bonding that we had in the beginning has just gone away and we are left with 2 cats that want nothing to do with us. They both see us and run and hide, like they are ferrul. It is so frustrating that my fiance said tonight that he wants to give them back. It has taken a toll on the cats and also on us emotionally, needless to say financially.
I do not want to give up, however, I do not know what to do anymore. They did a background check on us before we adopted, however, we took their word that these cats were healthy and they are not. I really do not want to give them back because I know that they will not be adopted for a very long time, (since it was 1 1/2 years before we adopted them). No one can give us any information on how we can give them their meds, (ear flush and mouth liquid) to 2 cats are are just now traumitized.
Please help. Do you have any information or ways we can do this and let us be the loving guardians we want to be to these 2 precious babies and to make them trust and love us?

    1. Holly E   May 7, 2013 at 8:51 am

Roseann, please don’t give up. These sweet little fur balls need you now more than ever. You just need to have patience and understanding and you’ll get through this phase; and before you know it, they’ll be healthy again and won’t need medication any longer. Although I haven’t read Jackson’s book, yet, I’m sure there must be an answer to your question in there on how to medicate these guys without alienating yourself. I seem to remember one of his episodes of My Cat from Hell dealt with this kind of issue. And you are right, the worse thing you can do for these babies and yourself is to take them back; they probably won’t get the care they need at the shelter and you’ll be beating yourself up worrying and wondering what happened to them. Keep your chin up dear, it will get better!

Please come to Madison, Wisconsin. I absolutely love what you do and think you are an amazing person. I have two rescue “ferals” and when I watch your show, I see many of the techniques you use that I have used myself in the past.

Thank you Jackson. Without going into detail, I can relate to you personally in many ways and you are an inspiration.

What a night! Mr. Galaxy was here, in Kansas City, today (yesterday, actually). For those of you who are fortunate enough to have Jackson visit your city on this tour, or if you can arrange to go to a city where he is touring, I strongly suggest to you to not miss the opportunity to hear him speak in person. His personality on television is but the shadow of him in person. He is a delight to listen to, and to interact with, when he is fielding audience questions. He is a bright man, very compassionate, caring, knowledgeable, and understanding. He took the time to answer audience questions with insight, care, and humor, where warranted. We had a very wonderful time at the event, and Jackson was in absolutely good humor throughout the entire event, even to the end, when the book signing went on for more than two hours. It was truly a pleasure to hear him speak, in person.

I said it at the end of the event, and I will say it, again, here: Thank you, Jackson, for coming to Kansas City on this book tour.

I’m trying to find out what the” more public events to follow” are in the Nashville area. Does anyone have any information?

    1. Diann   May 10, 2013 at 4:45 am

Today is the last day in Nashville. STILL no info on “more public events to follow”. Kind of leaving us hanging here!!! Is Jackson doing more events that the general public can attend or not?????

      1. Team Cat Mojo   May 10, 2013 at 1:09 pm

Diann, I am trying to find out any more info at all re/ Nashville. I feel your frustration — it’s amazing how many moving parts and people/points of contact there are in a tour like this. As soon as I get any info, I will post it! Also, I would recommend that if you don’t already, follow Jackson on Twitter (@JacksonGalaxy) to keep up with the latest breaking news. -Toast

Love your approach to feline behavior (and human!). I am a current 4th year veterinary student attending Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Recently we have introduced a behavior department for consultation in the teaching hospital and get many referrals. Last year a fellow classmate also brought back the student animal behavior club. We also have a well established feline club. Lets just say animal welfare and behavior are VERY popular subjects for the students here. Going out on a limb here, but it would be GREAT to have you speak with the students here about feline behavior. Just like you, we want to see our feline friends live long happy lives with their people.

  89. Amy Dial   May 27, 2013 at 4:56 pm

OMG Jackson & Team Mono, please read this article @ called ‘Cats & Wildlife.’ They are saying that people practicing TNR are well meaning but misguided & this is apparently approved by Cobb County Animal Control? That ferals should be taken to shelters & ‘adoped out??’ BS & they know it! They’d be killed before they made it passed intake!!! Please can you respond to them on FB? I am in 100% agreement that companion animals should not roam freely but they are way off base in regard to TNR & the public needs a trusted figure to let them know it! It’s on Vox Felina’s FB page. Thank you so much for all you do to help animals & their people. You are awesome!

  90. Karen Grabo   June 26, 2013 at 6:03 pm

When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and
now each time a comment is added I get several emails with the same comment.
Is there any way you can remove people from that service?

    Thank you!

Hey there — in each of the emails you receive, there’s a link where you can unsubscribe.

I seldom write comments, however i did a few searching and wound up here CAT DADDY Paperback Book Tour
    | Jackson Galaxy. And I actually do have a couple of questions for
you if it’s allright. Could it be just me or does it give the impression like a few of the comments appear like left by brain dead folks? 😛 And, if you are writing on other social sites, I’d like
to keep up with anything new you have to post. Could you make
a list of all of all your social pages like your Facebook page,
    twitter feed, or linkedin profile?

  96. kathy foley   August 29, 2013 at 2:49 pm

I need to know how to contact you for questions. However, on your show, I have seen a tunnel made out of net for a catio or agility tests. I have an avid hunter, Katie is 6 and does not jump up high places. we hunt all the time. I need hunting furniture. like tunnels and what not. can you help?

  97. Angie S   August 31, 2013 at 8:00 am

    Hi Jackson,
I’ve watched your show and am amazed by your cat knowledge. I have a problem that I cant resolve with my 10 yr old cat. In the last year she has started intermittently pooping outside the litter box–on the floor or on furniture. It has become more frequent lately–she has even pooped on the cushion that she lays on by the window. She does use the box for urine. The litter is the same as always. The box is kept clean. There are no other animals in the house. She gets plenty of attention. HELP. I don’t know how to fix this.

I just saw something about this on tv. It discussed the same
    things you wrote about.
I go to school in Canada and we just learned about this
in our class. Thank you for helping me with the conclusion of my report.

Thanks for the outline of tv stuff.
I totally think that cable tv is going to go away.
Or at least have to change with the times.
Internet television is definitely the wave of the future.

As internet speeds get quicker, everyone will be watching their tv shows on sites like this.

What does anybody know about this? I doubt there’s a lot more to the subject
I was just watching this on TV today. They discussed the same things you wrote about.

  100. Kevin Handy   May 24, 2014 at 10:46 am

I hope you will consider the Dallas area – our suburbs are very friendly – some very animal friendly and we have several “no kill shelters”. I live in beautiful Plano, Texas. I love your show but wish you would focus more on behavioral change – especially behavioral modification. I know it’s sexier to “do” something, however, I’d love to see you raise more consciousness of people behaviors and how these impact our pets. Also we need to better understand animal behavior. I have watched cats for years, talked to people who love cats, watched my own and read all I could and I still don’t understand how to read cat behaviors and what I might be doing to shoot myself in the foot relative to the cats around me.

We regret that Jackson does not answer questions posted in the comments. This is due to his demanding schedule and the high volume of requests he receives. But most importantly, since he has not met your cat, it would be contrary to his approach for him to give specific personalized advice for your specific situation. That being said, general questions and issues are addressed throughout this blog, in his book Cat Daddy and of course, the show My Cat From Hell.
