Spirit Essences Report: Marking & Hyperactive

SE More on Ep 7

This is part of a blog series called the Spirit Essences Report.  It contains off-camera info straight from Jackson about how he helps the cats you see on My Cat From Hell.  Many times behind-the-scenes, he has his clients use Spirit Essences holistic remedies.  They are the same remedies he formulated with Holistic Veterinarian Dr. Jean Hofve, and he’s been employing them for over a decade.

Spirit Essences are not essential oils.  They are holistic remedies, and the only veterinarian-formulated line of its kind in the world.  Jackson has developed and refined the remedies based on his over 15 years of experience and the needs of his clients.  They have been extremely successful, even in very difficult situations.  For more info, check out the holistic remedy section of store.jacksongalaxy.com

Moose – one of the “Top 3 Pee-ers” Jackson’s ever seen

According to his guardians, Moose always acted normal, but then for a reason they didn’t understand, he began marking, spraying, and urinating all over the house.  (To learn the reason, see this companion post about Moose & Kimba)

Jackson says:
We used Hyper Helper on Moose.  Not the normal place that you would use Hyper Helper, but it was to help slow down his activity.  The other thing we used was Safe Space for Cats.

Kimba: tearing through the house like a “White Tornado”

Kimba – “The White Tornado”

Kimba was an over-the-top blur of energy whizzing through the house, literally throwing himself against the walls, biting his fellow house cat, and human guardians.

Jackson says:
With Kimba – Hyper Helper is the order of the day.  Trying to slow down that time between thought and action.  That’s what we were trying to do with Kimba.

I love your program. I and my boyfriend live with 6 street cats which we adopted in different times and years. They are all friends with eachother which even amazes our veterinerian who thinks cats should be feisty and envious.
Whenever i watch your program i think about my peace at home and smile to myself. We’re very lucky to be owned by 6 cats and are in peace at all times.
    God bless you.

On one of your episodes you gave someone a spray to keep their cat from marking. I believe it was two tablets that you mix and spray. what was that product.

Hey Robert, The two tablets thing is a stain and odor remover called Fizzion and it’s available on Jackson’s online store here. There’s another product called Safe Space for Cats that Jackson has. It’s a remedy in his Spirit Essences line of holistic remedies for animals. What Safe Space for Cats does is help cats feel that their territory is protected/safe, which in turn reduces their urge to mark and claim space…because they already feel assured that it’s ‘theirs.’ You can also get Safe Space for Cats at Jackson’s online store here.

My cat is very territorial about “me”. He was a ferral cat that almost died on my porch. I rescued him. How do I stop a cat from spraying me? No one seems to know and has never heard of this.

I have 7 cats an a dog that live fairly harmoniously however, I recently brought home as a hospice cat a 16 yr old deaf cat named Annie who is going into early stage kidney failure, ever since my cats have been acting out more, getting into fights and someone or two have sprayed in spots. I have the feliway diffuser but it doesn’t seem to help. I would hate to put Annie back into our local shelter due to this. I’ve taken it very slow doing proper introductions but need help.

Hi, I am desperately trying to figure out what to do about a cat that lives in our neighbor hood. I never see him/her but it is marking all around our house. I tried using lemon essential oil spray to spray the perimeter. But every morning when we open the windows it smells so strong in the front and back of the house. We have one inside cat, I am not sure if that is provoking it, but I want so desperately to breathe fresh air, PLUS I really don’t want my cat to start marking the inside of the house.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

We regret that Jackson does not answer questions posted in the comments. This is due to his demanding schedule and the high volume of requests he receives. But most importantly, since he has not met your cat, it would be contrary to his approach for him to give specific personalized advice for your specific situation. That being said, general questions and issues are addressed throughout this blog, in his book Cat Daddy and of course, the show My Cat From Hell.
