Sarah from Woodland Hills, CA installed these floating Ikea shelves for her two cats Wendy and Casper. Casper likes to be up high, while Wendy prefers the lower shelves. It's important to observe your cats and accommodate their preferences. In this case, Sarah was able to make everyone happy! Here's how Sarah describes the project:
"Casper loves to be at the highest point in every room and his sister, Wendy, prefers to perch lower. I decided to hang some shelves near the ceiling for Casper to roam and watch over us and a couple lower shelves for Wendy. I found floating shelves at Ikea. The shelves were hung using the wall studs, and anchors. Casper absolutely loves it! He is constantly going up and down, roaming his shelves. Occasionally, he'll stop and watch us. Wendy likes to sit on the lowest shelf."
Notes from Jackson: We LOVE what you've done here! You did a great job of catering to the preferences of both cats. One suggestion I'd like to make is to add a non-slip surface like sisal or carpet to the top of the shelves to help prevent the cats from sliding off. Great job!
