Catification: Custom Cat Tree for Norton & Sam

Custom Cat Tree Bob and Linda Stafford from Wilderville, Oregon decided to build a custom cat tree for their two cats Norton and Sam using a beautiful natural log from the forest outside as the center pole. Shelves covered in scraps of the same carpet from the floor make the cat tree fit right in. This is a great example of how a little creativity can help you Catify in a way that fits your style exactly!

Here's what Linda has to say about their new cat tree:

We used a peeled log as the center pole on this cat tree (our home is surrounded by acres of fir and pine trees). The shelves are plywood, edged with some wood trim, each shelf is topped with carpet. At the bottom is an 8" x 14" carpet-covered board which can be re-covered when the cats shred through it. The top shelf is about 6" longer than the others so whoever climbs that high can lie down and survey the living room. Our boys, Norton and Sam, love to sit up there and look out the nearby big window at the bird feeding area just outside.

Notes from Jackson: I love this one -- a true example of the definition of "Catification". This piece works for both human aesthetic and utilitarian cat piece. Take a look at how seamlessly it fits into the decor of their home, yet it serves a purpose by creating a killer vantage point of the downstairs, as well as the comings and goings from upstairs to down. Best of all, because it uses nature in the same way that is used in the surrounding architecture, it's a piece they don't have to aesthetically apologize for, hence the front and center position in the home. Absolutely love it!"
