Jackson’s Shelter of the Month this February is
serving the South East Los Angeles, Watts and Compton areas of California “The Golden State”
That's right, it's a dog rescue! Because Jackson's not just "a cat guy." As he says, he's "bipetual."
And here is the “Adopt” T design that will help Downtown Dog Rescue this month, courtesy of ResQthreads!
Here’s more info about this month’s organizations.

More words from the good folks at Downtown Dog Rescue themselves:
Downtown Dog Rescue is an all volunteer animal charity that rescues and adopts dogs and assists underserved communities, focusing on South East Los Angeles, Watts and Compton. We offer free services such as spay/neuter, vaccines and basic medical care for dog owners who want to keep their dogs out of a shelter.
In April 2013, with the funding of Found Animals, we started the South LA shelter intervention program. Our goal is to prevent 400+ animals from entering the South LA shelter beginning April 6 2013 and ending December 31, 2013, offering a variety of services and resources, including free spay/neuter, wellness care, some medical care such as mange treatment, ear infections, simple wound suturing, free dog food, dog training one on one and group classes in the local South LA parks. Get involved, volunteer as little as an hour a week and help make a positive change in the numbers of animals entering one of the highest intake shelters in the LA City Shelter system.
As the year closed out, here are the numbers for 2013: Since April 6, 2013 a total of 2040 pets were intercepted ( 1788 dogs, 241 cats and 11 rabbits) of which 15 had mange, 378 reported they could not afford to keep the pet, 133 cited behavioral challenge beyond their control, 296 lost their housing or had a no pet policy shift, 82 needed to be rehomed/rescued and almost 50% at 982 simply needed free spay/neuter services.
$10 from every item purchased on the Res•Q•threads site is donated to the animal rescue/shelter of the purchaser’s choice. This month, #TeamCatMojo chooses Downtown Dog Rescue!

Every Shelter of the Month receives a 32 oz. bottle of Stress Stopper.
Stress Stopper is formulated for all animals, not just cats. It helps animals feel grounded and protected, which makes it great for the occasional, short-duration stresses that an animal faces: trips to the vet, thunder and lightning, fireworks, parties, vacuum cleaner, lawnmower, machinery, visitors and house guests, vacations (if the animal is boarded or has a pet-sitter), unusual noises (remodeling, construction, roadwork, etc.), arguments with other animals, repairpersons. It is also good for animals who are left home alone all day, to prevent boredom and stress.
As you can see, Stress Stopper is an all-around remedy, which has made it one of the best-selling remedies in the Spirit Essences line.
