Jackson’s Shelter of the Month this March is
in Indianapolis, Indiana "The Hoosier State"
There's a new T-shirt design this month to help FACE Low-Cost Spay/Neuter courtesy of ResQthreads! (PLUS, Special LIMITED EDITION St. Patrick's Day designs available to order through March ONLY!)
Check out the cat in the center with the tipped ear. That's the universal sign of a cat that's been spayed/neutered.
And, count how many cats are in the heart. …the same as the number of lives they have ;)
Thanks also to Stretch & Scratch for donating a whole case of scratchers! To Spirit Essences for donating a shelter sized bottle of Stress Stopper holistic remedy. And to Sunny Seat for donating window seats for cats!
Here’s more info about this month’s organizations.
The FACE Low-Cost Spay/Neuter was established in 1999 as the first high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic in Indianapolis. We have dramatically reduced pet overpopulation and the misery and death it brings in the Indianapolis area. Spay/neuter is a proven solution: fewer animals born means it is easier to find homes for existing animals.!
More words from the good folks at FACE Low-Cost Spay/Neuter themselves:
In 2011 FACE launched the Neighborhood Cat Program in conjunction with IndyFeral to target spay/neuter for neighborhood (stray and feral) cats. By the end of 2011, more than 800 neighborhod cats had been fixed. As we continued to work together, it became clear that our organizational approach to overpopulation and animal welfare in Indianapolis matched: our missions are the same. FACE and IndyFeral are like minded organizations committed to ending euthanasia through accessible and affordable spay neuter. It didn't take long for us to see the opportunity that a merging of these two organizations would offer. Indy Feral merged with FACE in April 2012 and then became a program of FACE. This merger has created seamless services for our city, and created a "first of its kind clinic" for spay/neuter and medical care of pet dogs/cats and neighborhood cats. Together we are leading the way to a "no-kill" Indianapolis.
$10 from every item purchased on the Res•Q•threads site is donated to the animal rescue/shelter of the purchaser’s choice. This month, #TeamCatMojo chooses Fancy Cats Rescue Team!

Every Shelter of the Month receives a 32 oz. bottle of Stress Stopper.
Stress Stopper is formulated for all animals, not just cats. It helps animals feel grounded and protected, which makes it great for the occasional, short-duration stresses that an animal faces: trips to the vet, thunder and lightning, fireworks, parties, vacuum cleaner, lawnmower, machinery, visitors and house guests, vacations (if the animal is boarded or has a pet-sitter), unusual noises (remodeling, construction, roadwork, etc.), arguments with other animals, repairpersons. It is also good for animals who are left home alone all day, to prevent boredom and stress.
As you can see, Stress Stopper is an all-around remedy, which has made it one of the best-selling remedies in the Spirit Essences line.
As a shelter volunteer, Joan Laisney saw scratch marks on cage walls and shelving by shelter cats’ attempts to perform natural behaviors: stretching their muscles, scratching to clean their nails and scent mark with paws.
After months of testing, Joan designed a scratcher for caged cats that is sturdy, easy to install and affordable in a tight economy.
Every Shelter of the Month receives a case of these awesome scratchers! Thank you Stretch & Scratch!
