Adoptable: Jemma & Meelah of FACE Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic

Have a look at good-looking Jemma & Meelah, two of the featured adoptable animals from FACE Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic of Indianapolis, Indiana. FACE (a.k.a. as IndyFeral) is #TeamCatMojo’s March Shelter of the Month. This means $10 from each T-shirt purchased here goes to them this month. Here’s more about Jemma & Meelah and how to adopt them from the team at FACE/IndyFeral….if you’re in Indiana…

Jemma showed up one day in the parking lot at FACE.  We're still not sure if someone dumped her or if she was just smart enough to find us!

She was very hungry and pretty lethargic but a little love and lots of treats and she is all better!  She is still pretty young and enjoys playing with the younger, more active cats.  She is an all around sweet and loving kitty.

Jemma’s on PetFinder, too!

Meelah came to us in October by way of a cardboard box left outside the clinic. We immediately had her spayed, vaccinated, and tested and she was cleared to go into our adoptable cat room. Unfortunately she didn't do so well with the other cats, became depressed and lost her will to eat.

She dipped down to only 3 lbs. With a little TLC from volunteers and staff members she persevered over a two month period, reaching a weight of 7 lbs. Right when we thought she was on track to a healthy life she began to act sickly. We decided to re-test her and we discovered that not only did she have high blood sugar but she was also FIV positive. With monitoring, she has reached a steady blood glucose level without insulin. Throughout all this, Meelah has been such a trooper.

Due to her fear of other cats and dogs, with her being FIV positive, and the extra need of a careful diet, only a very special person/family will be worthy. Meelah loves to be a lapcat, can hold a conversation, is a great purrer and loves treats. She is a really wonderful companion, and is ready for a permanent loving home where she can thrive.
