#MonthlyMojo: Operation Catnip

OpCatnip-slider

The Jackson Galaxy #MonthlyMojo beneficiary for August is Operation Catnip

Operation Catnip saves feline lives by setting the standard of operation for accessible, compassionate, large-scale spay/neuter and vaccination services for free-roaming cats.

This is how #TeamCatMojo is stepping up to help these heroes for Community Cats!

1. Jackson’s Pick

OpCat personality 6More cats are euthanized in America's shelters than any other animal.  Community cats -- free-roaming outdoor cats -- account for a large majority of this euthanasia in the U.S.

Operation Catnip is working to break this cycle permanently by training veterinarians, mentoring other programs, and bringing their successful model for a large-scale spay/neuter and vaccination clinic to every community.

Says Jackson, "Operation Catnip founder Dr. Julie Levy took her twin specialties, community cat management and shelter medicine, and spearheaded an incredibly efficient model for high-volume spay/neuter clinics."  Based out of Gainesville, Florida, Operation Catnip is starting to bring this model to communities across the United States.

With your support, #TeamCatMojo can help make this vision a reality!

Just $25 provides proper medications for cats needing extra medical support during spay/neuter.

2. Maximize Your Mojo

You may have already seen this cute paw print muffin pan.  It was featured in Ladies' Home Journal, Spring 2015.

But it's even better today.  Now, each one also sends $5 to help improve the lives of community cats through the groundbreaking work of Operation Catnip!

Don't be shy -- get one (or two, you don't want just 6 muffins do you?! ;) ) --  and bake for the cats!

3. #ShelterSunday

Jackson, on his August #MonthlyMojo pick:  "What Operation Catnip has achieved up to this moment in time, has been amazing, certainly. What makes one stand up and enthusiastically take notice, however, is their potential for changing the landscape in the world of community cats."

Making a permanent change happens one cat at a time.

Each week, we'll bring you a story from the front line of that change.  Check back every Sunday for a blog post titled #ShelterSunday.  You'll get a look at how and why Operation Catnip is bringing their model of high volume spay/neuter and vaccination clinics to municipalities across the U.S.

There's no better way to start your week than with a smile on your face and some good news under your belt!
