Best Friends National Conference

The Catification Session

Jackson Galaxy and Kate Benjamin of will present a session on Catification at the Best Friends National Conference, on Friday July 15, 2016.

Broadening the work and message of their best-selling books Catification and Catify To Satisfy, co-authors Jackson and Kate will discuss the importance of environmental enrichment for indoor cats, both at home and in a shelter environment.

Why Catification?

Catification is one of the most important tools in saving cats' lives by ensuring that they thrive in happy, loving, forever homes.  The goal is to arm attendees with knowledge and inspiration for Catifying their own homes and the shelters where they work and volunteer.

Participants will learn about the behavioral and design components of Catification and see stunning examples of Catification in action.

The 1.5 hour session will cover cat behavior, cat behavior as it applies to design, case studies in both homes and shelters, as well as a Q&A period.

Every day, more than 9,000 cats and dogs are killed in America’s shelters, simply because they don’t have safe places to call home.  That number can and should be zero. And that together, we can make that happen.
